Mass Effect 2 este un nou RPG al celor de la BioWare, urmand sa fie distribuit de Electronic Arts pentru PC si Xbox 360. Mass Effect 2 este realizat de acceasi echipa care a realizat si primul joc din serie.

Oficiali ai Bioware au sfatuit jucatorii sa nu stearga salvarile lui Mass Effect, o serie de decizii fiind preluate din primul joc. Cei care nu au jucat Mass Effect vor incepe cu un nou personaj, fiind pusi la curent pe parcursul jocului cu evenimentele desfasurate pana in acel moment.

Mass Effect 2 va utliza motorul grafic Unreal Engine 3 si este lansat la inceputul anului 2010, in perioada ianuarie-martie
